After Tony Dismukes was at the helm of the program for the last 4 seasons, he has decided to step down for personal reasons. In his place steps in a 4 year assistant Ryan Magni. Coach Magni is very familiar with the program, playing 2 seasons on the team ending in 2013. After that he went on the be a standout pitcher at Fitchburg State University, receiving national recognition his senior season. While playing college baseball Coach Magni played under 3 different head coaches, and 4 different pitching coaches during his tenure. In his own words “Seeing so many different coaches, and their styles of training and communication, showed me a lot of what we need to be doing, and also a lot of things that need to be avoided.” After the turbulence of COVID in 20’ and 21’ seasons, 22’ was not much better as the Cougars went 3-13. Coach Magni looks to completely turn that around in the immediate future. Although he was given a short recruiting period he has still managed to build a sizable roster going into the 23’ campaign. Coach Magni looks to get the cougars back to the Region XXI playoffs.
